Tibetan & Himalayan Singing Bowls,
Tingshas & Malas
The history of the Tibetan Singing Bowls is quite mysterious. Some say that they were in use during the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, over 2500 years ago, particularly in the indigenous communities of Tibet. Others speculate even earlier origins. That said, the theory and practice revolving around the Bowls involves refination, geomantik perception, chakra healing, invocation, prayer, offering and astral projection. They speak of the unified field of quantum physics, the tantrik doctrine of vibration and the harmony of the spheres. The higher quality Bowls seem to have a particularly healing effect on the chakras, massaging in a sense the subtle energy channels of the light body in a way that relaxes both both body and mind, restoring a peaceful balance to the individual in relation to the environment, and heightening awareness. There is a magik about them that is impossible to describe outside of the singularity of the moment in which they are played.
All Tibetan Singing Bowls come with baton. Tibetan Bowls were used by Tibetan monks for meditation and healing, and are considered Sacred. It is therefore correct conduct never to place your bowl on the floor, but always on a special cloth or cushion. 7-metal bowls consist of seven metals correspond with each of the planets....
My latest shipment of singing bowls from Tibet are as listed below... The prices vary depending on size, weight, quality and condition. Some of the larger bowls are new, made in Ladakh, on the borders of Tibet, but still made by traditional, hand beaten methods. They are made with 10 metals and have an amazing resonance. |

Ting-sha Bells Ting-sha bells are small bronze or brass cymbals that ring when they are struck together. The sound they create is pure, clear and resonant. They are handcrafted by Tibetan artisans using techniques that have been passed down through generations. Also known as prayer chimes they have been for centuries by both Tibetan Buddhist Monks and Tibetan Shamans, whose beliefs and practices are closely related. Tingshas are used to signify the beginning and ending of a ceremony, or meditation. Like their singing bowls, Tingsha’s are cast with seven metals, and are often decorated with sacred designs such as dragons or the eight auspicious symbols of happiness, known as the ‘Ashtamangalas’. Tingshas can be used for space clearing, for clearing negative energy, so could therefore be used for cleansing your bowls or other grounding tools, or even your healing room. When struck they produce a sound that brings clarity and spaciousness to any space. Although Tingsha bells would be too piercing to use during your healing session, they could have a dual purpose at the end of the session, such as helping to disperse a very blocked chakra, and simultaneously bring your client back into the here and now. The Tibetans would describe this as ‘calling one forth’ rather than ‘bringing one back’.
