Crystal Skull Mythology

It is believed that there are 13 ancient skulls on the Earth hidden safely from mankind. We are at the end of an era, which is the time when the skulls are most needed. One by one they will make themselves known, and one by one they will be found. Once reunited they will mark the beginning of a new enlightened era, a golden era for mankind.
Many crystal skulls have already been found throughout the world, and the ancient cultures of Tibet, Mongolia, and Meso-America already guard them safely. It is not known how many of the main 13 skulls have already been found, but many other smaller ancient crystal skulls have also been found in these areas.
It is not yet know who created these skulls, but it is thought to have been made by advanced alien civilised beings in the Atlantean or Lemurian eras. They hold great knowledge, but this knowledge will only be shared with the human race when we are at a level of spiritual advancement capable of absorbing this great energy of knowledge.

We are receiving small amounts of information into our collective consciousness right now, changing the way we think, feel and believe. As we become accustomed to these new crystalline energies then more will be imparted, until we are at a level that will sustain our next evolutionary step forward into the age of Aquarius.  

Contemporary Skulls

So many people are now being drawn towards crystal skulls. They are becoming very popular and now created in great numbers to support our spiritual development, much needed at this time. Although they are not ancient, they still hold vital information that can be utilised for the benefit of the human race, and will lead us quickly to a level where we will be able to assimilate the energy of the 13 great skulls when they are presented to us. They are gateways to our new world of the Aquarian age, awakening our sleeping minds and bringing us enlightenment and understanding of the new world to come.

The new crystal skulls are a source of healing and spiritual growth, and each is different in its energy and personality. They each hold a crystal deva within them, which when accessed can communicate wisdom to its owner, or skull-keeper, as they are known. One may choose to become a skull-keeper, but I believe that it is the skulls themselves that call to those who are at a relevant level of spiritual understanding, or who have the potential to reach that level. Listen to the crystal skulls. Are they calling to you? Are you ready to become a skull-keeper, and help mankind journey through into the next level of evolution and ascension?

All types of crystal, from Agate to Zoisite, have metaphysical properties that can aid in healing and development on all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. When they are carved into specific shapes the energy they emit is not altered, but amplified greatly. When carved into the shape of the skull, their energy is multiplied by ten! Consequently, their transformational qualities are magnified greatly. In the form of a skull the crystal becomes more personified, and triggers a more personal response to the crystal.

Meditating with crystal skulls helps to deepen our level of consciousness, and brings to us messages that are important to us on a personal level, while also answering any questions we have on a wider plane. When kept by our beds they bring a deeper sleep, and enhanced dreams. The crystal skull taps into our deepest human emotions, hopes, and dreams, providing a gateway to the inner soul.
Even if you are not consciously aware of your commitment to the crystal skulls, they are nevertheless dedicated to making things happen in your life. They interact constantly on all levels of consciousness, guiding us, healing us, sharing their wisdom with us and sharing our spiritual journey.

Working with Crystal Skulls

As each of us has our own unique characteristics, personality and energy, so too do crystal skulls. Not one is the same, which is why once you are introduced to crystal skulls it is hard not to want to surround yourself with them, and your family gradually grows. Each crystal skull you meet with stir different reactions, and you will be drawn to some more than others. I would always advise to research the metaphysical properties of each crystal before obtaining a skull, to ensure that their energy is compatible to that that you need at that time. It can also help you to decide where to keep them, eg. by your bed, in a meditation room, in your living room, etc.. I have a small yet very powerful garnet skull which I knew needed to be close to me for a while. She clearly gave me the message that I should place her by the bed so she could look over me while I slept. Although garnet is an energising stone, it still brought me deep sleep and enhanced dreams.

Tuning into your skull or meditating with it will help you to understand what help it is bringing to you, and it will advise you what to do with it.

The Mitchell Hedges Skull

The Mitchell-Hedges Skull was a phenomenon from the moment it was discovered. It is the most beautiful human sized crystal skull made of clear quartz, with a detachable jaw. It weighs 11.7 lbs.

The skull was found in 1924 in Lubaantun, the ruins of a Mayan City in current Belize, during an expedition of F.A. Mitchell-Hedges. It was his adopted daughter Anna who discovered the skull on her 17th birthday. It was obviously a very sacred object, so Mitchell-Hedges gave it to the Mayans, who later returned it as a gift, to honour Mitchell-Hedges for all he had done for them.
After her father's death, Anna took care of the skull,  travelling extensively with it, telling her story, and giving many people the opportunity to connect personally with the skull.

The Mitchell-Hedges skull was originally called the 'Skull of Doom' by Mitchell-Hedges and the Mayans, but Anna called it the 'Skull of Love', as it has such a wonderful energy. It has amazed many people, both because of the intricacies of its carving and the effects it has had on them. Frank Dorland studied it for 6 years, which resulted in his book 'Holy Ice'.
In 2006 Anna passed away, leaving its guardianship in the hands of her friend Bill Homan. Bill is committed to fulfil Anna's wish to expose the skull to the public and to allow the skull to contribute to peace on Earth.

Synergy

Synergy is a large clear quartz skull that has a gentle, yet intense, energy. It is thought that Synergy originated in Lemuria, and was modelled on a real human skull.

It has recently been verifies by two Kahunas from Hawaii that centuries ago Synergy had spent some time in the Hawaiian islands. They said it had been sent across the Pacific in a canoe, spending a short time in the islands before it continues on its way to the 'People of the Sky'. It travelled to South America where it would stay until someone, 'the right person', would collect it and take it elsewhere.

It is not know what happened next, though somehow a Catholic nun came into possession of it in the mid 1700's. When she died around 1800 she passed it to a man in an Andes village, telling him that it was 'an inheritance from a lost civilisation', and like the Christian Cross, was like a symbol of the transcendence of the Soul over death. She explained that it carries a message of immortal life and the illumination that we may discover when we lose our fear over death. She asked the man and his son to safeguard the skull until the 'right' person came to collect it in order that it could continue on its journey.

Almost 200 years later, in 1986, a European business man called George was hiking through the Andes when he came upon the village. The villagers greeted him warmly. Before he left he met a very old man - he was the grandson of the boy who had been given the skull by the nun. He took George to a crumbling old chest, lifted the lid, and took out the skull. He handed the skull to George and insisted that he took it with him. 

George looked after the skull for several years, displaying it with his jewellery so that many people could experience its wonderful energy.

In 2001 George travelled to America, taking the skull with him. Many people tried to buy the skull from him, but when he met Sherry he knew that he had to give it to her. She considered the offer over night, then of course agreed to take care of the skull for the next stage of its journey.

Sherry travels the world taking Synergy to share its wonderful energy with as many people as possible. In 2008 she met Bill Holman and the Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull. They have now decided to meet regularly to bring these two wonderful artefacts together.

A small collection but they have wonderful energy.

How the Crystal Skulls Found Me

In 1997 I was drawn to buy the book; 'The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls', but for some reason I didn't get to read the whole book at that time. Soon after that, in 1999 I was first introduced to crystal skulls carvings by Steve Mitchell, who owned the shop where I worked. I would spend as much time as possible absorbing their energy, and was particularly drawn to a life size deep green quartz skull, a beautiful amethyst skull and a smaller aqua blue obsidian skull. I would sit and commune with them at every opportunity. Sadly Steve closed the shop to move to France for a while, but gave me the blue obsidian skull as a gift before he left. With many changes that went on over the following year (some might say that they were influenced by my skull!)  - losing my job, having my third child, then moving house twice, my skull took a back seat, and simply sat quietly on my altar for many years. From time to time I would commune with it, but not in any major way, not until Dee Banton moved to my area from Glastonbury, bringing her huge family of crystal skulls with her, and re-introducing me to their power and energy. I traded some of my crystal singing bowls for her wonderful turquoise skull, and things developed from there. I now have a family of skulls, which is growing quickly.....
